Kadalur-based young woman said to have been kidnapped after being brainwashed to convert to Christianity
A Kadalur-based Christian institution has been brainwashing and converting students, using them to satisfy the lust of pastors and selling them in foreign countries as prostitutes.
Keerthika was living with her parents Senthil Kumar and Palaniyammal in a small village called Mantharakuppam in Kadalur district. After completing her plus+2 examinations, Keerthika joined in a Polytechnic college but had to dropout. She then joined a nursing course in Grace community college, which is run by Christians. After finishing her course, Keerthika got a job in the same college.
One and half years past and then Keerthika was married to her relative Anandraj. On October 19th Keerthika went to work as usual but didn’t return home. Her husband Anadraj was scared and gave complaint to the police, who then rescued Keerthika. But after November 5th, Keerthika disappeared again.
Keerthika’s parents are saying that she was brainwashed and converted to Christianity and later was kidnapped to some foreign country.
Keerthika’s mother while speaking to a print media, has said, “The owner of Grace community college is Aaram Appavu. when my daughter finished her course, he promised to give her a job. We thought it was a good idea and happily sent our daughter to work there. Everything was fine for one year, after which we noticed sudden changes in our daughter’s behaviour. She started saying that ‘Jesus is the true god’. we all should worship only Jesus. we were worried and asked about this to the college owner aaram appavu. He said Keerthika is god’s (yahweh’s) child. She will be blessed by Jesus, so you don’t worry. Then we thought that marriage would change her. So we got her married to our relative Anandraj.
“Aaram Appavu along with his assistant Gomathi came to the marriage and blessed the couple. Some time later he even invited a couple for a grand feast too.
“Then she went with her husband to live. Suddenly on October 19th, Keerthika disappeared. Her mobile was switched off. we were afraid and went to college to enquire about my daughter. But they said Keerthika didn’t come to the college at all. Later some workers at the college secretly said, “the college owner Aaram Appavu and his assistant Gomathi had brainwashed my daughter and sent her to Chennai.
Keerthika’s mother continues: “We were shocked to hear this, and immediately went to g=Gomathi to get an answer for her actions. but she initially denied her role in the disappearance of our daughter. when we persisted for a proper answer, she told that our daughter had accepted Christianity and she has been sent to Chennai to receive blessings from some pastors.
Only after this our son-in-law Anandraj filed a complaint with the police. They immediately took action and rescued our daughter. Since our daughter has been rescued, we don’t want to file a case. But after this incident we came to know many horrific deeds of the college”.
Keerthika’s parents discovered the institution has a regular habit of targeting poor and orphan girls who join their institution. There they will brainwash them into converting to Christianity. Not just that, but later they will say that after finishing the course ‘we will send you to foreign countries where you can lead a luxury life’. Many girls had believed them and went with them. They were sent to foreign countries where they were used to satisfy the lust of pastors. After that they are sold as prostitutes for an amount of 10 to 15 lakhs.
Keerthika’s mother said, “Initially our daughter listened to us. but again after November 5 she disappeared. Actually a guy came in a bike wearing helmet. She took off with him.
Palaniyammal ends her’s and her husband’s story: “In the name of conversion they have ruined many young women including my daughter. kindly expose them and save my daughter”
While enquiring about the college we found that it’s actually not a college at all. Instead it’s a training institute. Some of the workers have confirmed the accusations given by Palaniyammal.
It seems when the print media tried to get an explanation about this from Aaram Appavu he refused to speak to them. Later, the manager of the institute named Sundhar denied all the accusations. He defended their stand by saying, “Keerthika is a major [adult], she can do whatever she wants”.
Police don’t know what to do. they simply say if she keeps on running what shall we do? It’s her decision. Now Keerthika is accusing her parents and husband of torturing her. This is the hallmark of cult behavior that we expect from new-age cults, not a religion that has existed for 2,000 years. But perhaps Christianity is a cult after all.
