Visa Fraud Alert: Melinda, or Mindi, Banning
We have caught a young American woman violating Indian visa laws who went by herself. She is not the only one who came on her own, and she will not be the last:
We have caught MELINDA or MINDI BANNING violating Indian visa laws. Read how she misrepresents our religion and culture. We do not need any white saviors. It’s no longer the white man’s burden, it’s the white women’s burden as well. We do not need either! pic.twitter.com/3g276NGz9o

Ms. Banning lives in Rio, Illinois, USA. She is a volunteer at Northwoods Community Church. For her trip, she was sponsored by Hope Partners International. She was in India this year, in January.
More from her trip:
What is more curious is her misrepresentation of the caste system in her assessment of the target group she is seeking to convert. This is something we need to do more of. A thorough analysis of other societies, especially for NRI Hindus living abroad. It would behoove us to analyse the societies we live in to perhaps use their weak points to carry out goodwill and outreach to underprivileged groups in so-called Christian countries. That’s exactly what this woman Ms. Banning has done:
Whatever visa these people hold in India, they are in violation of the terms and conditions of the visa. If they hold a missionary visa, visa holders cannot use it for proselytizing and can only join a missionary organization APPROVED by the government of India. In order to be approved by the government of India to operate within the country, an organization must receive a certificate indicating it is compliant with the Foreign Contributions Regulatory Act. If they hold a tourist visa, they can only use it for non-business purposes, such as tourism or visiting family and friends.
A complaint has been filed by the Mission Kaali team:

Once again, we humbly request you also file a complaint as an individual; you can do so at this link. We will be regularly updating you on the complaints we file against Christian organizations that subvert Indian laws to further their aims, and we ask you to do your part. We also humbly request you like this post, and share this post with friends and family. Let them know what missionaries are doing. Remember, complaints are listened to by the government, more than social media posts. We need to prevent Ms. Baker the spiritual warrior from ever coming back to India.
We published a guide to filing complaints, which you can view HERE. You have a lot more power than you think you do; even missionaries are starting to take notice and they are getting worried.
Jai Maa Kaali!
