HYDERABAD: Gearing up for Christmas, the Telangana government has sanctioned Rs 1 lakh each to 200 churches in the city. Each church will also get 500 gift packs consisting of clothes. The churches will be identified by local legislators and corporators.
“GHMC officials along with elected representatives will distribute gift packs from December 5 to December 10, while the Christmas fest will be organised on December 19,” said a GHMC official.
“Churches identified by the public representatives should give details of their bank account and IFSC code so that money is deposited without any hurdles,” said Hyderabad mayor Bonthu Rammohan.
